UFC Spends Over $600,000 In Lobbying For 2012

When it came to lobbying in Washington for 2012, the UFC spent some major bucks. They came in second for major sports with $620,000 according to the Center for Responsible Politics (CRP).

It’s a 51 percent increase from the previous year and 158 percent increase from 2008. CRP began keeping records in 2008.

This year, Zuffa has spent $110,000 with lots being used in an attempt to legalize the sport in New York. Their 2013 bid failed, making New York the only state in the country yet to legalize MMA.

Coming in at number three on CRP’s list was the Professional Golfer’s Association, which spent only $380,000.
