Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks were already booked to meet in a few months before the welterweight champion decided to up the ante. He asked Hendricks to complete VADA testing and the No. 1 contender is onboard.
“Heck ya,” said Hendricks on Sports Net. “The worst thing that they’re going to find is a little bit of protein in my diet. If eating wild hogs and organic deer meat and a little bit of glutamine is bad for the system then I might fail.”
When they fight, St-Pierre will look for title defense number nine. He’s taken two since returning from an ACL injury that kept him removed from the Octagon for 18 months.
Hendricks earned the title shot with a win over Carlos Condit. It was his sixth straight UFC win.
UFC 167 is November 16 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
