Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos Grateful For Second Chances

Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos wasn’t certain about her future a little over 16 months ago. She was preparing to return from a suspension for steroids only for Strikeforce to close. When the featherweight didn’t want to work with the UFC, she joined Invicta FC and is close to being a champion again.

“I am very glad to be in Invicta and to be able to fight for a belt again,” said Santos to MMA Junkie. “We make mistakes in life, but there are also second chances.”

In today’s headliner of Invicta FC 6, Santos squares off with Marloes Coenen for the inaugural featherweight title.

The pair is familiar with the other, as Santos stopped Coenen in round three for Strikeforce a few years back to defend the now inactive belt.

Invicta FC 6 comes from the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, MO. It airs on pay-per-view for $14.95 with the main card starting at 9 p.m. ET. FightLine will have the results.
