Renovacao Fight Team has released middleweight Maiquel Falcao and featherweight Kaue Mena. It comes less than a week after the two gained attention for a nasty brawl.
Marcelo Brigadeiro, who heads the team, said the fighters’ behavior was not compatible with his team’s philosophy.
The two were in a brawl outside a gas station that saw Falcao suffer injuries and Mena remains in a coma.
Brigadeiro called the attackers “cowardly and criminal” in a statement with Portal Do Vale Tudo.
Falcao last fought at Bellator 88, where he was knocked out by Alexander Shlemenko. Mena competed last month, taking a first round knockout from Santa Catarina.
Bellator is expected to comment on the issue shortly.
