Chris Weidman admits that he saw Anderson Silva trying to mess with his head during their UFC 162 middleweight title fight. By now, we all know how Silva got caught with one shot that sent him to the canvas limp.
Despite taking the finish, Weidman thinks Silva is still the greatest.
“I think he should still be known as the greatest of all time,” said Weidman to TMZ. “He hasn’t showed any slowing down with anybody else but me.”
While Silva appeared to be arrogant during the fight, after everything was said and done Weidman felt tons of sportsmanship.
The loss ended Silva’s reign at a record 2,458 days. Weidman remains undefeated with 10 wins.
Either late 2013 or early 2014 is being looked at for the rematch. At first, Silva declined the rematch before quickly changing his mind.
