UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is open to VADA testing for his next fight with Johny Hendricks and his waiting to hear if the No. 1 contender agrees.
“I’m up for it and I invite my opponent to do the VADA testing for the championship fight,” said St-Pierre to Sports Net. “I invite, if possible, all the high-profile athletes in the UFC to do the same. I believe it’s a good thing.”
St-Pierre admitted that it’s annoying but necessary at this stage in fighting. Since returning from an ACL injury that kept him away for 18 months, St-Pierre has taken two decisions over Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz.
Hendricks needed to defeat Condit to earn a title shot. Three of his recent UFC wins didn’t go past the two minute mark.
They headline UFC 167, which is being treated like the 20 year anniversary show. It’s November 16 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
