UFC To Host A Show In Halifax By 2014

Canada has held its number of UFC events and the promotion is now looking to debut in Halifax within the next two years.

Tom Wright, UFC director of operations for Canada, Australia and New Zealand, confirmed plans at a press conference on Tuesday.

“I think the chances of the UFC going to Halifax are extremely good,” said Wright. “We will definitely be in Halifax for sure. “If not in 2014 then 2015. The next couple years for sure.”

The UFC held their first show from Winnipeg last month with UFC 161. They’ve held shows in Canada before with Calgary and Vancouver being two major places. The next show is UFC 165 from the Air Canada Centre on September 21 and headlined with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson.

Out of the country, the UFC is yet to hold a show from Saskatoon, Edmonton and Quebec City.
