UFC featherweight Jeremy Stephens’ felony assault and burglary charges from 2011 have been dropped, according to his manager.
Ryan Hass spoke to MMA Fighting on behalf of his client.
Stephens and a friend were originally arrested in October 2011 for assaulting another male. The UFC fighter was neither arrested nor taken into custody on the evening of the incident.
On October 5, Stephens was set to meet Yves Edwards at UFC on FX 5. A warrant was issued, and then Stephens was arrested hours before the event for transport to Iowa.
Stephens declined several plea deals and maintained his innocence the entire time. He pled guilty to one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, which called for a sentence of time already served and an unspecified fine.
At UFC 160, Stephens won a unanimous decision victory in his featherweight debut over Estavan Payan.
