By being the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey knows there are plenty of others looking to dethrone her. The champion wouldn’t have it any other way.
“We are competitors and competitive by nature,” said Rousey to Bleacher Report. “I don’t expect them to be bringing me sunshine, lollipops and daisies when all they want to do is smash my face in and take everything I’ve so hard to accomplish. At least they are being real about it.”
Following Rousey’s first title defense over Liz Carmouche at UFC 157, Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate were critical of her performance.
Rousey puts her undefeated seven fight record against Tate at UFC 168 on December 28 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. It’s a rematch of their 2012 Strikeforce encounter.
