Anderson Silva tried to get in the mind of Chris Weidman at UFC 162, in a technique that didn’t go as planned. As Silva continued to taunt Weidman during the second round, he went stiff from one shot.
“I tried to induce Chris into playing my game and that didn’t work,” said Weidman during the UFC 162 post-fight conference. “He threw some shots that landed and I got caught. I can’t make any excuses. A fight is a fight and I lost.”
The loss concluded Silva’s unpredicted UFC 16 fight undefeated streak. 10 of those were for his middleweight championship, which now belongs to Weidman.
Weidman is untouched with 10 wins. Most have come by Ring of Combat and the UFC. The stoppage over Silva was the fourth one under the UFC name.
