UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva could score a guaranteed paycheck of $800,000 if he successfully defeats Chris Weidman this evening.
The two comprise the main event of UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Silva, who recently signed a new 10-fight extension with the promotion, will make a base salary of $600,000. He could earn another $200,000 with a win.
Weidman, meanwhile, is looking at a base of $24,000, with an additional $24,000 should he upset “The Spider.”
Of course, these numbers do not reflect any type of bonus or sponsorship money the fighters earn; only their required salary given to the Nevada Athletic Commission. The numbers were first reported by MMAjunkie.com.
A full list of salaries for the card should be made available early next week.
