Bellator’s first welterweight champion is now a free agent. Lyman Good’s legal representative, David M. Fish, confirmed the report.
“The entire team at Bellator has been really good to me throughout my career and now they’ve given me the green light to go and fight anywhere I want,” said Good.
Three stoppages resulted in Good winning the Season 1 welterweight tournament and the respective title. He dropped the belt to the current champion Ben Askren in his first title defense.
The 28-year-old was unsuccessful in winning the Season 4 and Season 7 tournaments. His last fight for the promotion was a decision win against Dante Rivera at Bellator 95 in April.
Good doesn’t know what’s next and a return to Bellator seems possible.
“I don’t know where I’ll end up next, but I’m going to keep fighting and maybe I’ll be back at Bellator at some point,” said Good.
