Darrell Montague Waits Patiently For UFC To Call

Darrell Montague grew with excitement when he heard the UFC was introducing a flyweight division. That was well over a year ago and Montague is yet to receive a phone call from the UFC.

“I want to fight for the UFC, so I want to fight the best guys in the world that can get me there,” said Montague on MMA Junkie Radio. “If I don’t get to do that, then I’ll rest. I’ll get better and wait for my chance to fight the best guys in the world.”

Since 2008, Montague is 13-2. His biggest fights came against Robbie Peralta, Ulysses Gomez and Ian McCall. Of the three, Montague was only able to defeat Gomez.

He’s currently on a four fight win streak, which started in 2012. Montague has been putting extra attention to his strength and conditioning game since the loss to McCall.

No return is set.
