Ken Shamrock was set to make his MMA return in a few short weeks, but that appears to be off the table. The UFC hall of famer said he agreed to the original UCFC offer, only for the promotion to change their opinion on the details.
The end result means Shamrock will not be taking on Ian Freeman. It would have marked his return to the sport as he’s been inactive since November 2010.
“Now I’ve got my work cut out for me to get that out there so that I can let people know that this was negotiated a long time ago and these guys are in breach of contract,” said Shamrock to Mixed Martial Arts. “They’re the ones not holding up their end of the bargain.”
Freeman was quick to respond and call Shamrock a liar, while promising how he stills plans to be at the event.
“Not only is Shamrock a coward but he’s also a thief,” said Freeman. “He accepted the fight, demanded $5,000 upfront as a deposit of trust, of which was sent, and now refuses to return the money.”
UCFC: The Legends World Title is July 27 and comes from England.
