Brian Ebersole hasn’t stepped inside the Octagon since July of last year due to a nagging injury, but when he does return it will remain at welterweight.
“I’ve put in a few good weeks recently and I feel I’ve made a bit of progress,” said Ebersole to MMA Fighting. “I don’t hobble about, after a training session, quite so badly as before. I’ve asked Joe Silva for a bout and hope to hear back soon.”
At UFC 149, James Head took the split-decision win. It snapped Ebersole’s double-digit win streak, in which four of those came under the UFC name.
Ebersole stated the inactivity would make the drop to 155 pounds too difficult. He didn’t disclose the exact nature of the injury and only said it needed a long period of rehab.
