Johny Hendricks has several months to prepare for welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, but he already has the puzzle solved.
“I know exactly what Georges is,” said Hendricks on Inside MMA. “He’s a jab guy and a takedown guy, he’s going to lay on top of you as long as he can. He’s going to try and control the clock, he’s going to try and get you as tired as he can as quickly as possible.”
The No. 1 contender is ready to stand or take the fight to the ground. Hendricks has won three of his last six in the opening round. He got the decision over former interim champion Carlos Condit at UFC 158 in March.
St-Pierre will look for title defense number nine in their encounter. He’s taken a pair since returning from an ACL injury that saw him out for 18 months.
They are set for UFC 167 on November 16. It will be from Las Vegas, NV.
