Carina Damm Appealing Drug Suspension

Carina Damm’s manager says his fighter will appeal a suspension for testing positive to steroids. She was handed a six month suspension and fined $550 after being accused of submitting a false urine sample for a June 1 loss to Jessica Eye.

Jason Ellis of Relentless Sports Management said his client doesn’t take steroids.

“I spoke with Carina and her husband briefly and my understanding is that she’s not doing anything she’s not supposed to be doing,” said Damm to MMA Junkie. “I was told that she isn’t, so I’m going to support my client and see the facts through.”

Damm is 18-9 and had lost three in a row before a win two weeks ago. That fight was before the drug test results came back.

She was suspended for one year and fined $2,500 in 2008 for testing positive to steroids. The appeals meeting will be in August.
