UFC light-heavyweight Phil Davis has drawn a fight with Lyoto Machida for the co-main event of UFC 163: Aldo vs. Zombie in his opponent’s home country of Brazil.
Davis is a Division I wrestler himself, and favors Weidman going into next weekend’s middleweight title fight at UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman.
“I’m gonna go with my wrestling pride. I’m gonna go with Chris Weidman. I wrestled with the man when he was 14 years old. He looked the same way now, he looks exactly as big. So I’m going with Chris Weidman.”
Davis on the next 205-pound title match-up of Jon Jones versus Alexander Gustafsson, which will take place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 21, 2013 for the headliner of UFC 165
“I’m gonna go with the challenger on that one. I trained him, I know him, I’m putting my money on the challenger”
