When Bellator announced the coaches of Fight Master, there were two former UFC champions, an acclaimed coach and Joe Warren. The latter of that group might not be known to the typical UFC fan, but he’s paid his dues in Bellator.
“I tried to push that I’m the only person that’s actually a Bellator guy, that’s fought two tournaments and won a belts for them,” said Warren on MMA Junkie Radio. “So I sold the idea that I understand the organization. If you want to be a champ, you’ve gotta come with me.”
Warren won Season 2 for the promotion and later the featherweight title. He would enter the Season 5 bantamweight tournament at the same time, but didn’t get past the quarterfinals. He then dropped his featherweight belt to current holder Pat Curran.
On Fight Master, Warren’s four person team has Eric Scallan, Evan Cutts and Jason Norwood as of the latest episode to air.
