According to legal documents filed Monday in the United States district court, Bellator and Eddie Alvarez won’t meet again until after September 15, 2014. A pre-trial conference may take place that day.
Jury selection would start near the end of 2014, unless a settlement is reached.
Alvarez has been attempting to sign with the UFC since his Bellator contract expired. Bellator and Alvarez have been battling it out in court since January. The former Bellator lightweight champion failed to get an injunction to fight at UFC 159.
October 2012 was the final appearance for Alvarez, when he finished Patricky Freire in the opening round. It made Alvarez 8-1 and he finished his run with back-to-back knockouts.
