Josh Thomson is still in the feeling out process since he rejoined the UFC early this year. There’s no word on who Thomson will fight since finishing top contender Nate Diaz in April. For Thomson, he’s all about a clash with lightweight champion Benson Henderson.
“I’m focused on one guy,” said Thomson to MMA Weekly. “I’m focused on Benson, that’s it. I don’t really care about anybody else. I told the UFC before I came over, whoever you guys want me to fight so I can line up to fight Benson, that’s who I want to fight. Stylistically, I think we match up well.”
In Strikeforce, Thomson had wins in the double digits. He lost twice to Gilbert Melendez when their title was on the line.
Henderson defends his belt again at UFC 164 on August 31. It comes from the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI.
