The proposed superfight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre comes and go. For years, the two have been rumored to fight, but nothing ever materializes.
Now, Silva seems to be indicating that he’s offered his services with the welterweight champion not responding.
“St. Pierre had his chance to pronounce himself fighting me and he chose not to do it,” said Silva during the UFC 162 press conference. “[So] that’s what he chose to say.”
As talk about the pair continues, they are now focused on defending their respective belts. Silva looks for his 11th title defense when he takes on Chris Weidman at UFC 162 on July 6. In November, St-Pierre will go for title defense number nine when he meets Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.
