Vitor Belfort has been under a media storm for TRT as he continues to moves up the middleweight division once again. Coming off major wins over the highly ranked Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold have left some wondering when Belfort will ask for a title shot.
“I don’t think it’s time to ask, I think it’s time to earn,” said Belfort to USA Today Sports. “That’s my ethic in life. Life is about earning. Sometimes in life, you look at very rich guys who have been given everything, and they wind up crashing.”
So far, Belfort has made quick work of the fighters placed in front of him. In January, he finished Bisping in the second round and took former Strikeforce champion Rockhold down within minutes. He earned Knockout of the Night for each performance.
Belfort’s one middleweight title shot ended when Anderson Silva connected with a front kick in round one. There is no return date or opponent for the top ranked middleweight.
