Nine years since their first encounter, two known heavyweights will do battle once more in Russia for Legend. Former UFC fighter Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic looks to take on Aleksander Emelianenko later this fall, reports Vale Tudo.
Emelianenko has been extremely busy since last year. He went 3-1 with all of those fights coming out of M-1. The loss came from veteran Jeff Monson. In May, Emelianenko made quick work of Bob Sapp.
Filipovic might be best known for his time in kickboxing, where he’s 22-7. In MMA, he’s 28-10 and concluded his UFC career with three losses. He came out of retirement by submitting Shinichi Suzukawa at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye to closeout 2012.
The two originally fought at PRIDE: “Final Conflict 2004,” with Filipovic securing the win with a first round head kick.
