For the second time in her career, Carina Damm has been suspended because of drugs. She’s been handed a six month suspension and $550 fine for allegedly submitting a fake urine sample.
“The cup she handed the person – who then immediately handed it a doctor waiting outside the room – was what was tested and the lab confirmed it was not urine,” said Ohio Athletic Commission Executive Director Bernie Profato to MMA Weekly.
The test came after Damm’s loss at NAAFS on June 1 to Jessica Eye.
Damm is still entitled to an appeal hearing, which is set for August 13. It’s not known if she’ll attempt an appeal.
The 18-9 female tested positive for steroids once before in 2008.
