Bellator 2013 Summer Series Cut To Two Shows

Plans for Bellator to hold three events during their 2013 Summer Series are off. Instead of three shows, only two will take place as the August event isn’t happening.

Bellator 96 is already in the history books and saw the opening rounds of a four person tournament for light heavyweights and heavyweights.

The promotion returns on July 31 with Bellator 97. The two tournaments will conclude on that show with Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal vs. Jacob Noe and Ryan Martinez vs. Vitaly Minakov. Also set is lightweight champion Michael Chandler vs. David Rickels and welterweight champion Ben Askren vs. Andrey Koreshkov.

Bellator 97 comes from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM.

Bellator 98 will now serve as the first show of Season 9. That starts on September 7.
