Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s recent surgery will keep the heavyweight out for at least three months but that doesn’t mean he’s close to retirement, reports his manager Ed Soares.
“The doctors are saying he will be back training in three months,” said Soares on The MMA Hour. “He’s still a top 10 heavyweight in the world.”
The surgery was to repair damage sustained in his second round armbar submission loss to Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FUEL TV 10. At first, Nogueira thought surgery wasn’t required.
There is no opponent or what card Nogueira might return on.
