Chris Leben Uses Experience To Determine UFC 162 Main Event Outcome

Anderson Silva’s perfect UFC run all started in 2006 when he took care of Chris Leben in under a minute. Now as Silva prepares to defend his belt once again, this time against Chris Weidman at UFC 162, Leben has to stick with the champion retaining.

“He’s a tough kid and I’ve seen him put away some fantastic fighters,” said Leben to Fight Magazine. “He doesn’t have a ton of experience. He’s been on the fast track to greatness. Anderson Silva is a vet who’s been around for a long time and I would be surprised if Chris Weidman gets the ‘W’ in that fight.”

Weidman will enter the Octagon and attempt to snap Silva’s record 16 fight win streak with 10 title defenses. He does so with a perfect 9-0 record and is returning from a shoulder injury.

It will be Silva’s first fight of 2013 as he became the only person to stop Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in October.

UFC 162 is July 6 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. On the same card, Leben takes on Andrew Craig.
