UFC 155 is a card Junior dos Santos would like to forget. Not only did he lose his heavyweight championship to Cain Velasquez, but it came following a 25 minute beating.
“After my last fight with Velasquez, I was too bloated,” said Santos to Yahoo! Sports. “My face was completely deformed. I went to the hospital. I had no cuts against Cain Velasquez. He hits like a girl. He hit me a lot during the five rounds, but did not open anything, although I finished very bloated and had to go to the hospital.”
That encounter was a rematch. Their first clash saw Santos connect with a quick right to end everything in less than two minutes. Velasquez pointed to a bum knee as a factor for losing his belt.
They will end the trilogy before the year ends as Santos became the No. 1 contender by finishing Mark hunt at UFC 160. On the same card, Velasquez defended the championship against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva.
UFC 166 comes from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX on October 19. Velasquez-Santos are expected to headline the event.
