Anthony Pettis will avoid going under the knife, but he’ll still be sidelined for six weeks, according to a report by ESPN.
Pettis was forced out of a planned match with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo in August. He was hoping to be ready to fight later that month vs. UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson, but it appears he won’t be ready for that, either.
Pettis tore his meniscus in his knee, but will only need to allow the injury to heal on its own.
Aldo will face Chan Sung Jung at UFC 163: Aldo vs. Jung, and Henderson meets TJ Grant at UFC 164: Henderson vs. Grant.
