Chael Sonnen has been inside the Octagon twice with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
He took the long-time champion through four-plus rounds of intense action before being submitted in the fifth. The second time around, Silva finished Sonnen earlier in the fight.
Next month, “The Spider” will face Chris Weidman at UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman. In the eyes of Sonnen, the co-host of “UFC Tonight,” what does a win over the unbeaten Weidman do for Silva’s legacy?
“If Anderson Silva wins this fight, the debate ends: he is the best fighter of all time,” Sonnen said. “I can’t wait for this fight.”
