Rashad Evans’ win over Dan Henderson from UFC 161 is still fresh to many people. While Evans waits on word about what’s next, Glover Teixeira is already offering his services.
“For me, this fight is already accepted,” said Teixeira to TATAME. “Rashad should want two weeks to rest then in late August or September, if this fight went out, would be very good. I’m always ready.”
Teixeira has been tearing through the light heavyweight division since joining the UFC in May of last year. He’s won his last 20 fights, with four being under the UFC banner. Only once has Teixeira required the judges since debuting inside the Octagon. He last took Submission of the Night over James Te Huna in the first round of UFC 160.
Evans earned his first win in almost 18 months with the split-decision against Henderson. At the end of 2008, Evans took the light heavyweight title for a short span.
