Canada’s Patrick Cote made it to the finals of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 4, but was not able to take the win. It was enough for the UFC to keep him around and now Cote will coach on .
“I’m very excited,” said Cote to Sports Net. “I was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 4, but to come back on this season as a coach is really an accomplishment for me because a year ago I was in the middle of nowhere in Brazil fighting my way back to go in the UFC and now I’m going to be the coach for Canada. It’s just insane.”
Since Cote rejoined the UFC he’s 2-1 since July of last year. The loss came in the form of Cung Le as Cote rides a pair of wins.
On the show, Cote coaches opposite Australia’s Kyle Noke. In his welterweight return, Noke needed 45 seconds to finish Charlie Brenneman.
The international season of TUF is expected to debut in early 2014.
