Renzo Gracie’s last fight was his debut for the UFC. In that 2010 meeting with Matt Hughes, Gracie was finished in the third round. Over three years later and Gracie says he’s still under contract to the UFC and is preparing to return this year.
“I just start training very hard now,” said Gracie on Inside MMA. “I’m dropping my weight and I probably want to go to the 155 division. I’m training with the best guys and moving well. It’s just a matter of tuning the last things up.”
For a number of years, Gracie competed out of PRIDE before his sole appearance inside the Octagon. If Gracie does return as lightweight, it’ll be a change as he’s fought only in the welterweight and middleweight division his entire life.
Gracie is 13-7 and turned 46-years-old this past March. The UFC hasn’t mentioned Gracie’s name in a long time or if he is in fact still under contract.
