Vinny Magalhaes: Anthony Perosh’s Black Belt Means Little

Vinny Magalhaes surely doesn’t care if Anthony Perosh is a black belt. For Magalhaes, it isn’t anything special compared to the tools he brings inside the Octagon.

“Next year I’ll be a third degree black belt myself and I’m half his age,” said Magalhaes to Bleacher Report. “I do expect to finish him on the ground. There’s nothing on my resume that says that I can’t finish Anthony Perosh or another black belt.”

Both light heavyweights will be desperately looking for a win to stay towards the title picture.

Since Magalhaes returned to the UFC he’s 1-1. He recently suffered a decision loss to Phil Davis at UFC 159.

Perosh spent a short time as heavyweight before realizing light heavyweight was the proper choice. He’s since gone 3-1 with each fight not requiring the judges. Perosh took a seven second knockout loss to Ryan Jimmo last July.

They fight at UFC 163 on August 3. It comes from Brazil’s HSBC Arena.
