Ex-UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez has copped a deal to avoid DUI charges, stemming from his March arrest. Rodriguez entered a plea of no contest to wet reckless, according to TMZ. The charge is similar to a DUI, but not as serious.
By reaching a deal, Rodriguez avoids time behind bars. He was ordered to three years probation, a $300 fine and 12 hours in an alcohol education program.
The MMA veteran could also be seen on the first season of Celebrity Rehab.
Rodriguez was 5-2 for the UFC and last stepped inside the Octagon in 2003. His current overall record is 51-19 after taking a pair of wins this year.
