Anderson Silva has easily dominated everyone placed in front of him. While the middleweight champion has disposed of his opponents with ease, he’s not into fighting fellow Brazilians.
“It’s hard to put a title with two Brazilians,” said Silva to TATAME. “It’s cool because it shows the strength of the country in the sport, but do not like to fight with Brazilian and I have no such intention. If it happens, I’m a professional, and as he will fight.”
Silva has fought Brazilians before, using a highlight reel front kick to knockout Vitor Belfort at UFC 126. Since then, Silva has continued to earn wins and is undefeated inside the Octagon at 16. 10 of those wins have been when the title was on the line.
Chris Weidman will attempt to end all that at UFC 162. He enters the fight at 9-0 and off a shoulder injury.
UFC 162 is July 6 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
