UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been told by his medical team to slow down his rehab, according to a report by “UFC Tonight” Tuesday evening.
It appears as if Jones had his sights set on returning sooner than his doctor believes is a good time from his injured big toe. “Bones” suffered the injury earlier this year in a win over Chael Sonnen.
Now, it sounds as if Jones is on target for a potential October match with Alexander Gustafsson. Current No. 1 ranked contender Lyoto Machida has already accepted a fight with Phil Davis for this summer, leaving “The Mauler” as the odds-on choice to face Jones.
