In less than two months, Urijah Faber returns inside the Octagon. When asked about his upcoming opponent, Yuri Alcantara, “The California Kid” was honest about his lack of knowledge on the bantamweight.
“The face didn’t pop into my head when they said his name, but I remember seeing the guy fight, and he’s very tough,” said Faber to MMA Junkie. “It’s a dangerous fight in a lot of ways for me, but that’s where I’m at in my career – where I’m not necessarily gaining a ton from this fight other than the fight itself.”
Alcantara has been with the UFC for close to two years now. He’s 3-1 for them with a no contest attached. He has one victory this year.
Faber submitted Ivan Menjivar and Scott Jorgensen in 2013. Before that, he made it to several title fights but never could take the gold.
The two are set for FS1 1 on August 17 at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.
