Rashad Evans found himself with too many strategies heading into fights. He’s changed everything, starting with his training. The former light heavyweight champion is now going the Rocky route when it comes to preparing for Dan Henderson.
“I just went back to the basics,” said Evans to Bloody Elbow. “I went old school Rocky. That’s what I went back to. I was waking up early in the morning and getting my runs in, hitting the heavy bag in the garage, just old school stuff.”
This weekend Evans looks to get out of a two fight losing skid, as does Dan Henderson. Evans comes off losses to champion Jon Jones and Antônio Rogério Nogueira. Henderson returned from a knee injury and ate a decision loss to Lyoto Machida.
The former light heavyweight No. 1 contenders headline UFC 161. It comes from the MTS Centre in Canada this Saturday, June 15.
