It’s main event time, as heavyweights Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-7-1) and Fabricio Werdum (16-5-1) square off. Werdum is 2-0 since returning to the UFC, while Nogueira, a former interim UFC champion, has never lost in Brazil. Mario Yamasaki serves as the third man inside the Octagon.
Round 1: Loud chant of Nogueira to start, and Werdum quickly scores a takedown, moves into mount and goes to work. Werdum transitioning nicely from mount to side control, and now settling in the guard of Nogueira. Werdum lands a huge knee as Nogueira gets to his feet. Nogueira lands some punches, but Werdum remains in complete control. Elbow from Nogueira connects and he clinches up against the fence, seeking a takedown of his own.

Round 2: Back to the clinch, as Nogueira is peppering the body. Werdum takes Nogueira down and is looking to secure a possible armbar or kimura. Werdum moves to half-guard, transitions to the back and locks in a hook with two-plus minutes left. Werdum also has a possible armbar attempt and the ref steps in, as this one is all over.
