William Macario vs. Leonardo Santos in finals of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2
The co-main event will see the crowning of a new Ultimate Fighter winner, as William Macario (6-0) takes on Leonardo Santos (11-3). Santos is replacing Santiago Ponzinibbio, who made the finals but suffered a broken hand in the semis vs. Santos. The referee will be Marc Goddard.
Round 1: These two were teammates under the tutelage of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira on the show. Santos looking a little more comfortable now, throwing some strikes while Macario just backs up to avoid them casually. Takedown by Macario and into guard. Heavy rights behind hammered down by Macario, who is just teeing off with rights. Santos gets to his feet, but Macario remains in control with underhooks locked in. Santos goes for a judo trip.

Round 2: Macario with a big knee inside the clinch. Exchange of nice combos by both fighters, as Macario continues to clinch and land knees to the body, following up with a takedown and gaining control. Santos back to his feet, looking to try and win the round with two minutes left. Macario was getting taken down and he grabbed the fence. The ref stopped the bout, brought both men up but didn’t take a point away. Santos looks the fresher fighter, as Macario is breathing heavily. Takedown by Santos scores this time, as Macario had no chance to grab the fence. Santos in mount, looking for a potential arm triangle, but he fights it off. Another head and arm triangle attempt with 30 seconds left, as Macario is trying to fight it off, but he can’t and must tap.
Santos jumped out of the Octagon and found teammate Jose Aldo, the UFC featherweight champion, to celebrate with. Aldo had tears in his eyes as they embraced.
