Before 2013 closes, the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) plans to introduce more than one championship, according to WSOF president Ray Sefo.
“We’ll be looking before the end of the year to crown a couple of guys,” said Sefo during a media call this week. “We want guys to feel like they’re worthy of fighting for that belt. Not only that, but to feel like it means something to them.”
Currently a middleweight tournament is in place. Involved is David Branch, Elvis Mutapcic, Danillo Villefort and Jesse Taylor. They are expected to take part of WSOF 4 and/or WSOF 5.
The promotion returns in is less than a week with WSOF 3. It’s June 14 from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The main event is a UFC 2006 rematch with Jon Fitch vs. Josh Burkman. That match and the remainder of the main card airs on the NBC Sports Network.
