Randy Couture is livid that he’s not allowed to corner his son Ryan at his UFC fights. The former UFC heavyweight champion and hall of famer believes UFC boss Dana White has taken their feud to another level.
“In my opinion, that’s over the line,” said Randy to MMA Junkie. “On one hand, he wants to tell my son he’ll treat him like any other fighter, and give him an out if he wants out, but then he turns right around and tells him, ‘You won’t be able to have your dad corner you.’ I’ve been part of his camp and part of his career since the beginning.”
The tension comes from Couture’s decision to leave his post-fight UFC career and join with rival Bellator. Randy will serve as a coach on their new reality show Fight Master.
Ryan joined the UFC when Strikeforce closed. At the time, he was 6-1. Since, Ryan suffered a second round TKO loss in his UFC debut to Ross Pearson at UFC on FUEL TV 9. He has no return date.
