Johny Hendricks has been waiting a long time for a welterweight title shot with Georges St-Pierre. He believed he was the No. 1 contender with a 46 second knockout over Martin Kampmann in November. That wasn’t the case and Hendricks needed to defeat Carlos Condit at March’s UFC 158.
“I just have to wait and see what happens,” said Hendricks to MMA Mania. “I’m ready, though, and I’ve been ready for a while now. He wasn’t injured as far as I know. I wish I knew what the hold-up was.”
At the same event, St-Pierre secured his eighth championship defense. There hasn’t been news of any major injuries on his part.
Hendricks had requested a title shot in August, but there has been no word about the next welterweight championship fight.
