Jon Fitch has a clause in his contract that allows him to compete outside of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). The former UFC welterweight No. 1 contender doesn’t seem concerned about anything other than his current employer.
“I have it within my contract to fight elsewhere,” said Fitch during the WSOF media call. “I think World Series has the full intention of not allowing that to happen by keeping me busy.”
The first challenge comes from a familiar face in Josh Burkman. Seven years ago, Fitch submitted Burkman under the UFC name. Since that time, Burkman has won on the previous two WSOF cards.
It was also revealed that Fitch gets $30,000 to show and an additional $30,000 if he beats Burkman at the WSOF 3.
They headline the WSOF 3, which is June 14 from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. As part of their TV deal, the main card airs on the NBC Sports Network.
