Chan Sung Jung is not too pleased with Anthony Pettis. “The Korean Zombie” thinks Pettis jumped in front of everyone when he decided to use his No. 1 contender status in the featherweight division. Pettis had been competing out of the lightweight division when he earned that status.
“I feel kind of like Pettis cut in line,” said Jung on BJPENN.com. “I disagree with the choice. It’s just that Pettis hasn’t really earned a place in the division yet. I think that [Ricardo] Lamas, myself or even some other guys should’ve gotten the title shot before Pettis.”
Jung has been on a roll since he joined the UFC. He’s undefeated with three wins and several honors that include Fight of the Year for 2011 and 2012. His other UFC fight required seven seconds to knockout Mark Hominick.
Pettis gets his featherweight championship shot at UFC 163 from Brazil’s HSBC Arena on August 3.
Before that, Jung returns to the Octagon against Lamas. That’s on the main card of UFC 162 on July 6. It comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
