According to World Series of Fighting (WSOF) president Ray Sefo, kickboxing star Tyrone Spong will make his return on the August card. He was removed from WSOF 3 due to visa issues, which have since been cleared.
Sefo thinks he’ll meet Angel DeAnda, who was his original opponent for WSOF 3. They were set to be the co-main event.
“Those two were matched up originally, so I don’t see why that should change in August,” said Sefo during a media call.
Before Spong returns to the WSOF, he’s in action at GLORY 9 on June 22 from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, NY. He will look to add to his 69-6 kickboxing record. In MMA, Spong is 1-0 with an early knockout of Travis Bartlett at WSOF 1.
DeAnda is yet to debut for the promotion and holds a record of 11-2.
WSOF 4 comes from the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, CA on August 10.
