Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira celebrated his birthday this past Sunday and awaits the perfect present when he takes on Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FUEL TV 10. Nogueira would of course love to earn the win as a late personal gift.
“Winning would be a great gift,” said Nogueira to TATAME. “Fighting in Brazil, with the warmth of the crowd and beating a great opponent would be the perfect gift.”
The two will be competing in front of their home country since serving as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.
Nogueira hasn’t mounted much offense since joining the UFC. He’s dabbled with wins and losses, taking Submission of the Night for his armbar over Dave Herman in 2012.
Werdum is 2-0 since he rejoined the UFC. He was 2-2 when he left for Strikeforce in 2009.
They headline the June 8 card out of the Ginásio Paulo Sarasate in Brazil.
