World Series of Fighting (WSOF) president Ray Sefo has signed some former UFC veterans such as Jon Fitch and Andrei Arlovski. He also has some youth on his roster and feels they are the future of the sport.
“These young guys like Justin Gaethje and Marlon Moraes, they’re the future of the sport and they’re coming along really well,” said Sefo to MMA Mania. “They show so much promise and it’s just a matter of time before they become champions.”
Gaethje is undefeated with eight wins and six coming via submission. He took a doctor stoppage against Gesias Cavalcante on the March card.
Moraes is 2-0 for the WSOF with a win over former UFC fighter Miguel Torres. The other win came from Tyson Nam, who had stopped Bellator’s bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas last summer.
WSOF 3 is June 14 and features Gaethje vs. Brian Cobb. It comes from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Moraes’ return isn’t known.
